Vice & Virtue is a font I worked on collaboratively with Darcelle Medlyn. This font was inspired by the gameplay of Snakes & Ladders.

Inspired by the 70’s punk movement, I created a zine that explores the different types of typography that have been used by the punk rock band Green Day.
UX/UI
This sketch works as a dynamic visual identity for the American punk rock band Green Day. I created this sketch to serve as an “interactive greatest hits album” that consists of my favourite Green Day songs off each of their albums from 1990-2009. The visual identity of this interactive album changes appearance in response to the user’s interaction with the button, selector, and slider. Whenever the user makes a choice with the selector, the sketch’s music, and background pattern will change. The patterns change using the songs’ frequencies. The size of the background patterns change when the user interacts with the volume slider.
I created this sketch to act as a digital self-portrait. Often when people are going through significant changes, self-portrait can be used as a form of self-reflection. This sketch overlays 2 images; so when the Y position of the user’s mouse changes, the opacity of the top image decreases - revealing the image below. Having recently shaved off my luscious locks and beard, I thought this recombination sketch would be a fun way to reflect on the significant change my appearance went through in a matter of seconds. However, just like this sketch, the hair can be grown back.
I am inspired by classic sci-fi and pop culture, with Star Wars being my main inspiration for this sketch. I used different shapes to draw the lightsaber hilt; where they all follow the mouse’s position. When the mouse is pressed a random coloured lightsaber blade will be drawn. This sketch was designed to make the user feel as though they are wielding a lightsaber.
